SAIEVAC Regional Secretariat, A SAARC Apex body for Children announces the vacancy of the following two key positions to its secretariat for an initial period of two years (until December 2014) with possible extension:
1. Child Protection Manager: Funded by Plan International and UNICEF ROSA
- She/he will be responsible to coordinate Child Protection activities for the SAIEVAC Regional Secretariat as the Technical Head of the Programme Department and in particular:
- Programme management, strategic planning and technical support
- Support the strengthening of SAIEVAC partnerships including ongoing synergies with SACG
- Capacity building of SAIEVAC on child protection
- Contribute to start SAIEVAC becoming a knowledge center of excellence on violence against children in South Asia
- Represent SAIEVAC in Child Protection Meetings/Workshops
- Correspond with SAIEVAC National Mechanisms and NACGs in all the SAARC Member States to disseminate information related to Child Protection and galvanize ongoing joint efforts.
- Take lead in coordinating preparations for organizing Child Protection Workshops/(Technical) consultations.
- Prepare and promote thematic briefings on different aspects of VAC and child protection
- Take a lead role in building and strengthening SAIEVAC Secretariat Team under the supervision and guidance by the Director General.
- Closely collaborate and cooperate with other Team members around advocacy and communications and any other relevant areas of convergence.
- Production of communication and promotional materials on SAIEVAC
2. Advocacy and Communication Officer: Funded by Plan International
- She/he will be responsible to carry out Advocacy and Communication activities for the SAIEVAC Regional Secretariat and in particular:
- Production of various communication materials including regular updates, statements, films, videos, fact sheets Developing Secretariat’s advocacy strategy and plan and establish and maintain a regular media network.
- Developing links with other regional networks
- Designing an interactive component of SAIEVAC website for children where they could communicate safely and map out and share/post various tools for safe online communications
- Create an internal electronic resource center for videos, pictures, reports and other documents
- Refreshing, maintaining and updating the SAIEVAC Website which involves web editing, web designing, collecting and uploading data and materials from SAIEVAC and SACG partners.
- Strengthen SAIEVAC internal and external communication in order to promote Child Rights and Protection based on SAIEVAC 5 year Work plan.
- Documentation of SAIEVAC Programmes and activities
