Launch of the National Child Abuse Campaign – ‘AHAN – LISTEN TO US’

The Director General of SAIEVAC with the President of Maldives, H.E Abdulla Yameen and the First Lady H.E Madam Fathimath Ibrahim at the Launch of the National Child Abuse Campaign – ‘AHAN – LISTEN TO US’ with the following objectives

  • Increase awareness and knowledge of violence against children, including sexual abuse and neglect, as well as the nature and extent of violence against children, the risks (e.g. child sex offenders), and the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse and violence.
  • Provide target audiences with the knowledge and skills they need to recognize, prevent, and protect children from all forms of violence. The topics covered will, include specific strategies for increasing child safety, decreasing risk of harm, and reporting both suspected abuse and concerning behaviors.

The Campaign was jointly organized by the Ministry of Law and Gender and UNICEF.

The Highlight of the Launch was the First Lady assuming the responsibility of the Honorary Advocate of Child Rights
