Strategic Planning Workshop on SAIEVAC-SDF Project

The Strategic Planning Workshop on was held in Paro, Bhutan from 19th – 21st March 2011.

The SPW was the most important precursor for the SAIEVAC – SDF Project to launch its activities which includes both regionally coordinated common activities as well as a broad range of activities to be undertaken in all the 7 Member States participating.

The Objectives of the Workshop were:

 

  • To create a common understanding among implementing partners in all the participating Member States, the SDF Counterpart Agencies in all the Member States, the SAIEVAC and SDF Secretariats of the SAIEVAC project, its objectives and expected outputs within the projects life span;

 

  • To define the roles and responsibilities of the different stakeholders involved in the implementation of the project, particularly in relation to the SDF rules of procedure and the existing standards of reporting, M&E and auditing procedures in the different participating Member States;

 

  • To undertake country specific exercises to develop a National Implementation Framework which would be collated to develop the Regional Implementation Framework; and

 

  • To come up with a set of core recommendations that would reinforce the realization of the key areas of SAIEVAC – SDF Project outputs within the larger SAIEVAC 5 Year Workplan.
